Single Family Residence

Project Description:

This single family residence is a 12,000 s.f. ultra-luxurious home featuring a full three-story stone veneer exterior with limestone fenestrations,  two-story entrance atrium, a turreted screen porch, flagstone paved precast concrete balconies, and long-span engineered wood floor joists.

 

The structure is a challenging combination of wood, concrete, steel, masonry, precast concrete, engineered and conventional wood framing.  In order to create projecting bayfronts, the stone is supported on steel portal frames tied back to the wood framing, and portions of the rear of the house have the stonework transferred on steel framing.  Rear decks are flagstone paved precast concrete, supported on reinforced masonry.

 

Many challenges with the size and complexity of the house and the variety of materials were overcome with a combination of fine craftsmen and attention to detail of the project team.
